    ZT Hotels properties in Barcelona are once again participating in the "Invisible Hotel" campaign.

    ZT The Golden Hotel Barcelona and the Hotel & Spa Villa Olímpica Suites are once again participating in the "Invisible Hotel" campaign, an initiative of the IReS Foundation and the Gremi d'Hotels de Barcelona (Barcelona Hotel Association) to address the city's social needs and raise awareness about the living conditions of people and groups at risk of exclusion.

    As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, each hotel is donating €1,900 this year. ZT Hotels is contributing a total of €3,800 to this charity campaign. This is the third year of participation for ZT The Golden Hotel Barcelona and the second for Hotel & Spa Villa Olímpica Suites.

    The IReS Foundation is a private organization that has been providing social, psychological, and educational care to people at risk and/or at risk since 1969. Its innovative methodology is based on the empowerment of individuals and families, promoting active reintegration where individuals themselves evaluate and design their exit plan with the support of professionals to help them find a path to a better life.

    The Golden Hotel Barcelona obtains the triple seal "I calculate, I reduce and I compensate" from MITECO

    The Golden Hotel Barcelona has been awarded the triple "Calculate, Reduce, and Compensate" seal by the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO). This recognition underscores our commitment to sustainability and the fight against climate change.

    This seal is a voluntary certification that is part of MITECO's carbon footprint, offset, and carbon dioxide absorption project registry. The primary objective of this program is to help organizations measure, reduce, and offset their carbon footprint, thereby demonstrating their commitment to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

    The process for obtaining this triple seal involves calculating the hotel's carbon footprint for at least four years, following MITECO guidelines, and thoroughly collecting and analyzing data on GHG emissions generated by our operational activities.

    Receiving the triple seal of approval "I Calculate, I Reduce, and I Compensate" not only validates our efforts to be an environmentally responsible organization, but also positions us as a benchmark for sustainable tourism within the hotel sector. This has been one of the hotel's goals since its inception, as it incorporates numerous notable elements in both its design and its management system aligned with this purpose, which can be consulted directly on its website.

    ZT Hotels now has two of its three hotels in Peñíscola with the Biosphere Committed certification.

    The Jardines del Plaza Tourist Apartments and the Acuasol Aparthotel have recently received the Biosphere Committed distinction, an accreditation that recognizes both companies' compliance with the established requirements within an initial phase of awareness-raising and implementation of best practices, leading to subsequent Biosphere certification.

    The Biosphere Certification is one of the most important international seals of quality specialized in tourism. It certifies organizations and companies that have designed and implemented environmental, social, and economic sustainability practices within their management, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

    To achieve this recognition, the team at ZT Hotels, the hotel chain that owns the Jardines del Plaza Tourist Apartments and the Acuasol Aparthotel, used the Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle digital platform, documenting the daily actions of each hotel establishment within each of these objectives. These actions can be viewed here for the Jardines del Plaza Tourist Apartments and here for the Acuasol Aparthotel.

    Biosphere's methodology is based on independent, objective, impartial, and transparent verification. An external auditing team of professionals evaluates and validates the sustainable efforts implemented by each establishment, based on the United Nations sustainability indicators, criteria, objectives, and targets, within the framework of the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. This is a continuous process, where destinations and companies develop sustainability by monitoring their continuous improvement.

    As part of this strategy, the Peñíscola Plaza Suites Hotel & Spa has been certified with the quality seal from the Spanish Hotel Quality Institute (ICTE) since 2016 and has also taken steps to obtain this Biosphere recognition. Therefore, all three properties in the chain would now be certified.

    ZT Hotels joins the Red Cross social business challenge

    There are opportunities that change lives; for example, being able to access a job. The Red Cross and ZT Hotels know this very well.

    Within the Red Cross Castellón Provincial Office's Employment Plan and within the Business Social Challenge Alliances for Labor Integration (POISES) project, financed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, the European Social Fund, and Labora through the Hire Without Barriers campaign, the proposal is to eliminate prejudices and stereotypes that cause us to perceive race, origin, sex, or age as negative characteristics of people who are prevented from performing their work or professional obligations.

    ZT Hotels, and especially its Peñíscola properties—Hotel & Spa Peñíscola Plaza Suites and Aparthotel Acuasol—have always been committed to the employment and professional development of young people and all working-age individuals. They wanted to be part of this project from the moment they were first approached. In fact, the Red Cross contacted the company, which immediately expressed its willingness to hire staff for these Peñíscola hotels.

    This isn't the first time ZT Hotels has responded to the Red Cross' call.     For the past few years, the Peñíscola Plaza Suites Hotel & Spa has been participating in the Employment and Training Plan, part of the Incorpora program organized by the Red Cross. This program aims to promote the employment of people at risk of social exclusion in companies.

    As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Plan, the hotel has implemented this initiative to help train employees in the tourism sector, offering internships, apprenticeships, and the opportunity to enter the workforce and develop professionally.

    That's why the Red Cross wanted to present the hotel with recognition for its participation in this cause.

    In addition to this collaboration, ZT Hotels, the hotel chain that includes Hotel & Spa Peñíscola Plaza Suites, has participated in other charitable initiatives, such as Christmas donations to soup kitchens and social institutions, and donations of hygiene and sanitary supplies during the pandemic, thus confirming its commitment to contributing its economic activity to society and generating a positive impact.

    ZT Hotels as Vice President of HOSBEC

    Javier Gallego, CEO of ZT Hotels, reaffirmed his position as vice president of HOSBEC for Castellón following the General Electoral Assembly held on December 2, attended by more than 250 people.

    At the General Assembly of the Hotel and Tourism Business Association of the Valencian Community, the candidate led by Fede Fuster was voted in. Fuster also has five vice presidents, including Javier Gallego for ZT Hotels, who holds the vice presidency for Castellón.

    The electoral process was carried out in accordance with the Statutes, through a free and secret ballot. After the vote count, the institutional ceremony was held with speeches by the outgoing and incoming presidents. Ximo Puig, President of the Valencian Community, and Francesc Colomer, Regional Secretary of Tourism, also attended the event.

    HOSBEC was founded in 1977 as a local association until 2011, when, following a favorable vote to expand its scope to the entire Valencian Community, it changed its name and retained its acronym. Throughout these years, it has been characterized by its dedicated work defending the interests of all its members, which has allowed it to establish itself as one of the country's leading business associations and the most important in the tourism sector of the Valencian Community.

    Since 2018, Castellón hoteliers have joined HOSBEC under the new Altur Hosbec Castellón brand, of which ZT Hotels was one of its first members.

    On September 1, 2022, the Hotel & Spa Peñíscola Plaza Suites****SUP was recognized with the Fair Hotels for Labor Responsibility seal by FairHotels. This international seal of quality certifies the quality of employment in hotels and the commitment of hotel companies to promoting good working conditions and decent wages. It is the final result of an initiative jointly promoted by Spain's main trade union representatives, CCOO (Workers' Commissions) and UGT (General Union of Workers).

    Its objective is to raise awareness among both business owners and citizens about the importance of socially responsible tourism and decent work, so that the tourism industry is recognized as an example of quality and comprehensive sustainability in our country. To this end, six essential indicators are used: compliance with agreements and freedom of association, job quality, occupational health and safety, training and professional development, diversity and equal opportunities, and equal pay.

    Regulations on the Right of Access and Permanence in ZT Hotels

    ZT Hotels has established a Regulation on the Right of Access and Retention in its establishments, which is mandatory for all guests who use its facilities, equipment, and services. This document is drafted in accordance with the regulations in force in the Valencian Community (Decree 10/21 of January 22 and Law 15/2018 of June 7) and Catalonia (Decree 75/2020 of August 4 and Law 13/2002).

    Failure to comply with the rules set forth in these regulations may result in the cancellation of the reservation and require the immediate departure of the persons responsible for such behavior from the establishment.

    Below is a brief guide to the All-Inclusive (TI) service conditions available to guests of the Peñíscola Plaza Suites****SUP Hotel & Spa and Jardines del Plaza Tourist Apartments:
    • For greater convenience and flexibility, you will be given an identification bracelet and a room card, which you must show at each service to use the IT.
    • The right is personal and non-transferable. If a guest wishes to invite a person not staying at TI, they must pay the price indicated on the menu. Therefore, we ask that you order only the quantity of drinks that corresponds to the number of occupants noted on your TI wristband.
    • In accordance with current Spanish legislation, alcoholic beverages will not be served to minors under the age of 18.
    • Ordered drinks must be consumed only in designated areas. Drinks are not permitted in guest rooms.
    • Drink accumulation is not permitted; you must finish the drink before ordering the next one.
    • The TI service can be enjoyed from 12:00 on the day of arrival until 12:00 on the day of departure.
    • On the day of departure, you must go to reception at 12:00 to collect your wristbands.
    • Meals and beverages from contracted services must be served solely and exclusively at the location where they are served.

    Services included
    • The food you have booked is buffet-style. You will be assigned your shift and buffet at reception.
    • The hotel offers the option of experiencing its themed dining experience. This option is subject to prior reservation and availability.
    • All buffets include the first drink served at the table and the rest at the bar during lunch and dinner services.
    • Theme restaurants include drinks served at the table.
    • Snack from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in a designated cafeteria or restaurant.
    • The drinks included in buffets, theme restaurants, and afternoon snacks are: water, beer, soft drinks, and a glass of wine or cava selected by the hotel.
    • The TI service in the cafeterias will be from 10:00 a.m. to midnight and includes the alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages listed on the TI menu. Please check the cafeteria opening hours at reception.

    Customers are hereby informed that they are not permitted to enter/leave the buffet with food or drinks.

    On September 27, coinciding with World Tourism Day, the Valencian Government presented the 2018 Tourism Awards, in which ZT Hotels was recognized.

    The Valencian Community Tourism Awards are prizes designed to recognize individuals, organizations, and institutions that have stood out throughout the year for their work promoting tourism in the Valencian Community. Within this framework, ZT Hotels was recognized in the category of inclusive and responsible tourism for its significant contribution to improving accessibility, allowing everyone to enjoy the tourist attractions at its Peñíscola properties: Hotel & Spa Peñíscola Plaza Suites and Aparthotel Acuasol .



    ZT Hotels has put itself in the shoes of people with disabilities who want to enjoy a well-deserved vacation and leisure time in Peñíscola like everyone else. A task as common as hanging clothes in the closet while unpacking, ordering a menu, or turning on a tap can be difficult for many people. This Castellón-based hotel chain has thought of all this and more, completely renovating 20 adapted rooms and several common areas at the Hotel & Spa Peñíscola Plaza Suites , a family holiday resort located opposite Peñíscola's Playa Norte. Likewise, at the Aparthotel Acuasol , located in the Peñismar area, it has configured four fully adapted apartments. All of these accommodation units have ample space, switches and hangers at the appropriate height, bathrooms equipped with bars and retractable seats, automatic faucets with presence detection, two-way communication, and other accessibility improvements to ensure a comfortable stay.



    "We have been working with this type of group for many years, as the facilities, due to their size and characteristics, made us especially suitable for them," said Javier Gallego, CEO of ZT Hotels , when asked by the institution about this award. And our experience has led us to go further. Visual alarms have been installed in these rooms for emergencies, receptions are accessible and have a special communication system, restaurant and cafe menus are in Braille, there are access ramps to avoid architectural barriers and facilitate movement around the hotel, both the outdoor pool and the spa have hydraulic lifts, there is an internal procedure for serving guests with reduced mobility, hearing and visual impairments, and there is a specific plan in case of evacuation.

    The Valencian Community Tourism Awards jury also took into account that ZT Hotels has developed corporate social responsibility initiatives with local NGOs, quality certification efforts, and has a staff training and equality plan; initiatives that comply with the Valencian Tourism Code of Ethics.
